That’s right, it’s time once more for the summer’s premier music festival in the heart of T-Town: Druid City Music Festival kicks off Friday, August 23, and encompasses two jam-packed days of exciting entertainment. Festival Basics

This year’s Mercedes-Benz Druid City Music Festival spans 21 venues including the main stage at downtown Tuscaloosa’s Government Plaza. No matter what kind of music gets you grooving, you’ll love the energetic vibe and the huge diversity of sounds from more than 40 performers over the two-day festival. General admission pricing is $78, and tickets are available online – but they’re selling fast, so hurry and secure yours.

The Music

Things get started Friday night at popular hangouts around town – musicians will take the stage at The Booth, Historic Bama Theatre, and many others. Among the headliners, you can catch Southtown, Wes Lee, Talking Animals, Plato Jones, BJ Reed & Company, Druid City Jazz Masters, Henri’s Notions, Farmer’s Daughter, Justin Oliver, Caroline Shines & the Impulse, and plenty more.

On Saturday morning, stop by Tuscaloosa River Market from 9 to 10 a.m. for the Lance Hocutt Financial Group Battle of the Bands. This family-friendly music showdown features Kung Fu Grip, The Band Wylder, Seismos, Side Tracked, and The Dark Pools.

On Saturday at Government Plaza, get an earful of Big Boi, Blackberry Smoke, Turkuaz, Break Science, Tauk, Southern Avenue, CBDB, Lee Bains III and the Glory Fires, and Graystone. With music spanning such a broad range of styles and sounds, there’s something for everyone.
