Don’t Miss The 48th Annual Kentuck Festival Of The Arts
For one brisk autumn weekend each year, Northport welcomes thousands of visitors looking for a unique glimpse at our thriving arts culture. Now in its 48th year, the Kentuck Festival of the Arts returns wind a host of brilliant artists!
When and Where
The Kentuck Festival of the Arts will be held at the Kentuck Art Center on Saturday, October 12 and Sunday, October 13. It starts at 9 a.m. each day. The Kentuck Art Center is located at 503 Main Avenue, Northport, Alabama 35476.
Admission
Tickets for a single day are $10 per person and $15 for the whole weekend. Children 12 years old and younger may enter for free. You can also opt for the VIP treatment for access to a hospitality tent and a VIP party at the top floor of the Northriver Yacht Club. VIP packages range from $185 to $410. Exclusive experiences include Coffee with the Collector, an artist party, and early bird shopping on Saturday morning.
The Kentuck Festival of the Arts
More than 270 artists will display their work at the festival, spanning a vibrant array of styles and mediums. The festival has a long running tradition of connecting guests with the rich and imaginative folk art all around them. In nearly 50 years, the annual event has earned the praise of Alabama Magazine, Southern Living, National Geographic Traveler, and others, all for its culturally dense curation and unique experience.
A Variety of Artists
Across the diverse lineup of artists, you’ll see mixed media, glass art, wood work, clay, photography, music, metal, jewelry, and more. You may see jars with expressive faces courtesy of Brown’s Pottery in Hamilton, Alabama. You can also look for the paintings of Georgia’s Angela Bond, who’s art has been featured in the festival’s promo imagery. Continuing a treasured Alabama tradition, Hallie H. O’Kelley creates a special quilt for each year’s festival, a fitting symbol of the event’s meaningful weaving of art, community, and culture.
Fun and Games
In addition to the art, you can find a range of food trucks and other vendors, plus activities for the kids. If the young attendees feel inspired, they can try their hand at the clay or tie-dye stations. The Tuscaloosa Symphony will also bring back their “musical petting zoo,” allowing children to learn about various musical instruments.
