The Hyundai Sonata is truly a car that has it all: striking looks, enhanced performance, plenty of cabin space and innovative tech. The Sonata offers plenty of possibilities with its spacious cabin that can seat up to five and its adaptable seating configurations that offer plenty of cargo capacity when needed. Thankfully, the Sonata comes standard with 60/40-split folding rear seats with an available pass-through-so you can easily fit luggage, golf clubs or sports gear! The Sonata is also tech heavy, so you can expect to find a collection of intuitive features that’ll help you access your phone, music, friends and maps while allowing you to keep your eyes safely on the road ahead. While behind the wheel, you’ll find a new sense of excitement during your daily driving routine thanks to the Sonata’s sprinted driving performance that brings more fun and capabilities into your life.
The 2022 Hyundai Sonata has gone through some changes for this year’s model. Perhaps most notably, the SEL trim now has a 10.3-inch navigation system, a panoramic sunroof, and a 12-speaker Bose® audio system. It also has voice recognition, Highway Driving Assist, and LED interior lighting. Before this year, all of these features were only available through upgrades. If you go for the N Line trim, you can get the special wheels and spoiler. The Limited version didn’t have dynamic voice recognition before, but it does for the 2022 model.
Initially sculpted by world famous automotive stylist Giorgetto Giugiaro and his ItalDesign firm, the Hyundai Sonata family sedan first arrived in the United States for the 1989 model year. Throughout much of its past, many deemed the exterior design of the Sonata as conservative, but gradual adjustments were consistently made with each year model, eventually forming the revolutionary 2011-year model. The 2011 Sonata featured Hyundai’s Fluidic Sculpture that was a stark contrast to many of its previous generation’s exterior appearance. The 2011-year model also introduced a new gasoline direct injection four-cylinder engine, a turbocharged power plant and more tech features. Another significant change was made to its 2015-year model, where the sonata featured a totally refreshed design and refinement. Currently in its seventh generation, the Sonata name remains Hyundai’s longest-used nameplate.
