Hyundai SmartSense Features
All new Hyundai vehicles come with Hyundai SmartSense, a suite of safety and driver-assistance features that include radars, cameras, and ultrasonic sensors, making your daily commute safer and easier. Check out the features included in Hyundai SmartSense:
- Blind-Spot View Monitor – Before you change lanes, your vehicle will scan your blind spot and display a live video feed on the digital instrument cluster so you can avoid a collision.
- Forward – Collision Avoidance Assist with Pedestrian Detection – When a vehicle or pedestrian is detected in the vehicle’s path, this feature will alert the driver, and if corrective actions are not made, it will automatically apply the brakes to avoid or lessen the severity of a collision.
- Lane Keeping Assist – If your vehicle begins to drift out of the designated lane without using a turn signal, the system will warn the driver using audio and visual cues. If corrective action is not taken, the system will apply corrective steering for you back in the lane.
- High Beam Assist – This feature automatically turns on and off your high beam by detecting oncoming vehicle headlights, taking the hassle out of remembering to turn the high beams on and off.
- Driver Attention Warning – Your vehicle will monitor your driving habits. If the vehicle believes you have been inattentive, it will alert the driver using a sound cue and a warning message that it may be time to pull over and rest.
- Lane Following Assist – Your vehicle can monitor the lane markers and help the driver keep the vehicle centered in its lane.
- Blind Spot Collision Avoidance Assist – When your turn signal is initiated, your vehicle will scan your blind spot. If an approaching vehicle is detected, it will alert the driver and automatically apply the left and right front to help you avoid a collision.
Some other common safety features found on Hyundai vehicles include:
- Surround View Monitor – Your vehicle uses cameras mounted on its front, sides, and rear to provide a 360-degree view of its surroundings on the touchscreen display.
- Safe Exit Warning – While parked, the vehicle will use radars to detect approaching vehicles from behind and alert the exiting passengers before they exit.
- Parking Distance Warning – Front and Reverse – Your vehicle monitors surrounding objects using sensors on the front and rear bumper when you’re parking to ensure you don’t collide with anything.
- Rear Occupant Alert – Your vehicle will remind you to check the back of the vehicle for pets and children before leaving your vehicle.
